Choosing a name for your baby is not an easy task

Choosing a name for your precious little newborn baby can be quite a task. Remember that your child will have this name for their whole life, and is your first gift to your child, so make it something special. As you browse through website after website of baby names, it can do one of two things for you. Either it can introduce a name you haven't thought of or it can just cause great confusions and make the task even harder for you .
Here are some tips to help you to get a sweet and great name for your little baby :

1. Furnish the lists of names you love, like, honour etc. and both you and your partner compare the lists - are there names you both love? Add more and strike out you dislike.
2. Some people choose their baby's name based on what it means and it may require a consultation with friends and relatives or a dictionary.
3. One very important factor is if the name will age gracefully, what fits a baby or young child may not fit an older person. Consider this carefully.
4. Make sure the name sounds good with your last name. Pronounce it .
5. Consider carefully names inspired by your religious beliefs i.e. name of God etc, which may not suit the child when he/she grows up .
6. Think about how it might be shortened. People shorten their names, and you need to choose one that you like and will still sound good with the surname .You know, young friends called themselves with horrible shortened names .
7. This is important : Sometimes there are several variations on a name, and different spellings of the same name. A unique spelling may help your child stand out, but may make for headaches when it comes to correcting people and paperwork!
Confused again ? There's a lot of room for the unusual, unique, and offbeat, and the choice is yours. Go as you like , you have the liberty to do it .

Who is Naughty !

Even infants can tell the difference between naughty and nice playmates, and know which to choose, a new study finds.
Babies as young as 6 to 10 months old showed crucial social judging skills before they could talk, according to a study by researchers at Yale University’s Infant Cognition Center published in Thursday’s issue of journal ‘Nature’.
The infants watched a googly-eyed wooden toy trying to climb roller-coaster hills and then another googly-eyed toy come by and either help it over the mountain or push it backward. They then were presented with the toys to see which they would play with.
Nearly every baby picked the helpful toy over the bad one.
The babies also chose neutral toys — ones that didn’t help or hinder — over the naughty ones. And the babies chose the helping toys over the neutral ones.
There was no difference in reaction between boys and girls, but when the researchers took away the large eyes that made the toys somewhat lifelike, the babies didn’t show the same social judging skills.
The choice of nice over naughty follows a school of thought that humans have some innate social abilities, not just those learned from their parents.
A study last year in Germany showed that babies as young as 18 months old overwhelmingly helped out when they could, such as by picking up toys that researchers dropped.
Researchers also want to know if the behaviour is limited to human infants. The Yale team is starting tests with monkeys, but has no results yet, Hamlin said.
Parents should be cautious while presenting toys to their kids and be aware of the age-suitability of the play things which are often mentioned on the packs.
